Effect on Emotions
- Emotional Intelligence is something that I'm big on. To me it's one of those things in our broken school system that needs to be taught more.
- It's important to be aware of your own emotions and to be able to respond appropriately to the emotions of others.
- I'm always working on anger and temper. Other people are not out to get you or hurt you. Everybody has their own stuff going on.
Thoughts on Breathing
- Breathing is huge. That's something I'm working on doing more of. I'm not a meditator. After I do my mantra in the shower, I take a few deep breaths and let it all soak in.
- If I'm having a moment, or if something's going on, and I start to get overwhelmed or anxious, I'll catch myself and just do some breathing exercises.

Bullying Story
- I was very bullied as a kid. When I transferred from Hawaii to Bethesda, Maryland, I had an accent and I spoke with Hawaiian slang called pigeon.
- I was an outsider and I never quite got my footing.
- My mom was not the typical soccer mom. I just wanted to fit in and be like the other kids.
